"ElderCare
Strategies has become like another member of the family. The care
for our mother
has been superior because ECS has been a
regular visitor to check up on, advocate for
and inform us of any needs or concerns."

providing home care assessments and care management.
For many years she has been providing art enrichment programs for
older adults. This involves slide lectures, discussion and
reminiscence. Her miniature schnauzers are often included as a pet
therapy adjunct.
Susan Wallace, M.A (Counseling)
Care Manager
Susan has just rejoined ECS after a
4-year break to be a full-time care manager for her husband, who
recently died of ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease. She now has experience
on both sides of the fence: as a care manager for others and as a
recipient of home health care and end-of-life care for a loved one.
Susan’s hands-on experience with caregiving is matched by her
familiarity with the research and literature on aging, as she has
worked for AARP as a research database editor for many years. Susan
has also had experience working with mental health issues related to
older adults; she did her graduate internship in a geriatric mental
health program and was employed by another one. Her love of
gardening led her to set up a gardening program for participants at
a local adult day care center where she volunteered for years.
